What are Current Estimated Anticipated Wages to Midwest Expediting Owner Operators?
To accurately determine how much you'll earn in your expediting job, depends on many factors as well, such as:
1. Your present financial situation – how hard you can run.
2. Your individual level of ambition. If you have a strong work ethic, then you'll get the freight miles and your paycheck will grow.
A: Expedited Solo / Truck: Our average expedite solo driver with a straight truck has to operate within the hours of service
(HOS) and we currently have no solo expedited drivers so this is an unknown as to your actual miles.
B: Expediter Team / Straight Truck : Typically no less than 2,300 miles a week (slower months)
to over 2,900 miles per week.
C. Expediter Team / Tractor with Trailer: Typically no less than 2,300 miles a week (slower months)
to over 2,900 miles per week.
D. Expediter Cube Vans: Generally 8-11 hours per day, 5 days a week, plus. $970.00 - $1,500.00 a week gross (slower months).
E: Expediter Cargo Vans: Generally 8-11 hours per day, 5 days a week, plus. $970.00 - $1,300.00 a week gross (slower months).
All sorts of economic factors will influence the volume of our business but we
are a strong and nationally recognized expedited carrier and partner
with or own intricate online expediter networks, and furthermore;
A. Many other expediting "carriers"
B. Are members of several expedited freight "load networks"
C. Belong to several major expediters online "exclusive expedite shipping
networks"
D. Have a "solid customer base" nationwide
E. We do not rely on nor target any one well known "Automotive
Logistic Network"
F. We are aligned and partnered with one of the biggest online expedited marketing
infrastructures there is in the United States.
G. When you come and partner with us, you'll actually be working
for over 15 other mainstay major expedite carriers that we share
our assets with to keep you loaded.
ALL UNITS GET 100% OF ALL FUEL SURCHARGES.
ALL STRAIGHT TRUCKS WILL HAVE ALL AUTHORIZED TOLLS PAID BY US.
ALL UNITS HAVE FIXED LOW MONTHLY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH US.
NO UNIT HAS QUAL COMM EXPENSES (WE DON'T USE THEM).
UNITS DO NOT PULL HAZ MAT OR CANADA.
The more opportunity you create, the more money you'll earn. Reduce the limitations, restrictions, or boundaries that YOU CREATE AND
INSERT into your business plan, and the more you'll earn doing your expedite job.
These estimates will be difficult to obtain if you are required to go home daily, if you have restrictions on your work time / hours
or are not a team unit (where teams apply).
Obviously the more you contribute to your expedited freight business by removing LESS, the better off you are and of course the more
money you can make.
We do not accept any part time expediter Owner Operators.

* Loaded Miles
** Deadhead pay will be after 100 miles of deadhead to a pick up
D, D+, E and E+ sized units:
Roughly 85% of the time your unit will be loaded with the full / top
dollar pay scale for your type of equipment. We only put lower paying
loads on board under certain circumstances that make perfect sense to
circumvent no load days and / or to get you paid loaded miles out of a
heavily saturated area with other expedite units from other carriers.
This is better than moving you with no load miles. Additionally, if
your in a geographically unproductive area with no loads in site at
top dollar to you, we will accept lower loads that move you loaded to
better strategically acceptable area's. This is critical to an overall
good week, month, quarter. The more expediter straight trucks we add,
the more we can put into our straight truck partners businesses as we
will not forget to "stuff" your pockets while we're "adding" to ours.
We do not provide trailers but will compensate you per mile loaded,
to offset the trailer expenses. 48 or 53 foot air ride trailers are required.
As noted above, roughly 85% of the time your unit will be loaded with the full pay scale for
your type of equipment.
No expedite load will ever be forced dispatched, as long as you clarify your perimeters
prior to a load being captured for your unit and we can tolerate it.
The one thing you won't have to worry about here, is bad or
undesirable loads unless there's a real good reason for it and is bad
as it is, in your best interest. Not to say money wise, as you are
covered with fixed flat per mile rates but other possible load
circumstances.
When you / your unit shows available and on the board, you are expedited to take any load
issued to your unit - UNLESS you have communicated a particular perimeter that you do not
want to participate in so we don't capture a particular load that you
would not want - to begin with. It's that simple. If we issue you a
load and for example, it goes to a destination that you care not to go
to, then simply tell us up front so we stay away from that load and we
do NOT capture it to begin with...
In other words: We do not “cherry pick” expedited freight loads in
order to obtain you a decent weekly average. Cherry pickers that need
to "chew on" the load information before hand, we don't want you here
with us. Chew on specifics prior to the event and share it with us so
we don't have to delay our customer or another carrier, while you
think about the load. We don't play this game. If your ever issued a
load going somewhere you don't want to be, you better tell us before
hand and then you'll never have to be - "Forced dispatched".....

Is there an age limit on expediting vehicles?
Yes.
Expedited straight trucks with sleepers: No more than 8 years old
Tractors: No more than 10 years old
Trailers: No more than 8 years old
Expediting Cargo Vans: No more than 10 years old.
Any color on expedited units are fine. All expediting vehicles must be rust free and in presentable condition.

What kind of expediting vehicles do we accept?
A. Cargo Vans: 3/4 HD or 1 ton cargo van units. Long chassis expediters do best. Short unit cargo vans have a tendency to be under
achiever's but we will accept
(Built in sleepers shortening cargo space is discouraged but we will accept). Use the entire cargo area as a sleeper area. More
comfort, more room.
B. Sprinter Cargo Vans will have a 8,550 or a 9,990 GVWR - the heavier 1 ton expediter will need to have a sub floor over the wheel
wells, the entire inside floor. The longer the chassis the better. (Built in sleepers shortening cargo freight load space is
discouraged but we will accept). Use the entire expedited cargo area as a sleeper area. More comfort, more room.
C. Cube Cargo Vans: 3/4 ton HD or better, preferably with flat floors / no wheel well or fuel tank obstructions.
D. Expediter Straight trucks with sleepers, ICC Bumpers (best) and landing gear (optional). 102 x 102 boxes are preferred with min.
of 96“ tall door openings (for forklifts accessibility). Any length is fine.
E. Tractors: 3 axle
F. Trailers: 48 or 53’ air ride.
All expedite vehicles need cargo harnessing equipment, straps and / or load bars.
Rust free & mechanically sound is a must.
DOT Inspections on over 10,000# GVW units.

Satellite Expenses
Most expediting carriers mandate this equipment which benefits the carrier but charges you, the expediting driver.
THERE ARE NO SATELLITES AT Midwest Expediting. This is a huge annual cost savings! For you the driver and no holes punched into your
roof. Satellites are also called "Globes" or Qual Comm's". Join an expedited carrier that does NOT force you to have a satellite so
you can save on this expense.
This avoids installation and removal fees, not to mention weekly rental fees.
If your expedite carrier tells you that the Qual Comm is free, it may be, but your getting a reduced per mile rate most likely,
paying for it in a round about way anyhow.

We pay a flat rate not a %
|
- If you are forced to accept a % of the load based pay, here's where your money can disappear.
When carriers are battling for available loads, most will lower their rates in order to capture loads,
therefore, if you're paid (EXAMPLE) 60% of the load, based on their "Standard Advertised Rates" but
they DISCOUNT, the load / YOU, are no longer making 60% of 100%, your possibly making 60% of 60%
or whatever it's been reduced to. Let me tell you, discounting loads
is the norm in this business. Everyone does it.
This is where your pay thins out. If Midwest EVER discounts a normal load, Midwest will
normally take the hit, so you don't have to. This "hit" will come from
our profit, remember, your getting flat rates... We make this loss up
in sheer volume of expedite trucks we have.
We promise the best transportation rates in the industry & we never lower our drivers cents per mile
without their permission any load!
- You'll know exactly what the run pays every time. Just take the miles for your load times that of your flat rate
mileage paid.
It's simple, our overall program is highly rewarding so this is no exception. Simply put, our pay is the best.
Thank you from: Midwest Expediting, where expediters go online for a better expedite carrier and for better expedite jobs.
Tractor and Trailer loads pay 80% if you supply the trailer, and no, your money won't disappear under this program with Midwest Expediting on a % pay, we're one of the few who are the exception to the rule. IF you already have a TT, you know that this is very, very unusually high a percentage. WE DO NOT hike up the percentage because of fees or hidden charges..
It's simple, our overall program is highly rewarding so this is no exception. Simply put, our pay is 80% because of the costs associated with this type of equipment combined with the fact that we do not provide the trailers or the IFTA's. Finally, you'll get 80% of 100%, NOT 80% of 60% or some other %... It's a fact, that both the TT owner & Midwest Expediting can make more money each and fairly, by putting the money to the equipment FIRST.. If we supply the trailer, you'll get our standard rate per mile.

Estimated Dead Head Miles Between Expedite Loads
Dead Head Pay?
We pay you .10 cents per mile, after 100 miles if your traveling to pick up your expedited freight load. Typically you will pick up
within 30-70 to Miles of home (depending on which state your home is in) or within 30-70 miles of your last load / current location.
These estimates are NOT written in stone, but a fairly accurate distance based on our methods & procedures. You will at times also
travel less than 30 and over 70 miles to get your expedite load.
Excess dead head miles are sometimes paid at full rate after 50 miles (to pick up a load) when we can bill
extra to the shipper to compensate the extra travel. When dead head is unusually far, we normally have extra
compensation that we, the expedited carrier will kick in. This is negotiated by your assigned expedited freight
dispatchers with company management oversight.

No Haz Mat / Canada unless it is desired
Currently we do not mandate you to haul Haz-Mat material. Canada deliveries are not mandatory with us either. We prefer our drivers to remain in the U.S.A. simply due to the sheer volume of our U.S. freight without having to go elsewhere.
We are not an approved Canadian carrier.

How long does it take to get started with my expediting job after I switch expedited Carriers?
If your already with another expedite carrier and they are under performing for you, we could start you in as little as 24 –36 hours
by us preparing an emergency orientation for you. If your skilled in expediting, we will do this for you so you don’t have to wait the
normal 3-7 days for our normal once weekly orientation. If your leaving another carrier, to ease your transition in some
circumstances, we can also put you on an immediate payroll receipt program within 7 days. We can also give you daily fuel advances for
the first 2 weeks to ease your transition in some circumstances.
This will offset your having to wait for your final settlement at your old expedited carrier.
If your already de-identified, we can start you the next day under our “Carrier Improvement Program”.
Your biggest issues will be removing the other expedite carriers logo or decals and removing their qual comm.
While your coordinating this, we will make emergency preparations to get you started immediately after that is accomplished.
